Delivery Management Guide

Configure delivery zones, manage drivers, and track order deliveries.

Delivery Dashboard

The Delivery Dashboard provides a real-time view of all delivery orders and driver assignments.

Accessing Delivery Dashboard

Navigate to POS > Delivery > Dashboard to view and manage all delivery operations.

Dashboard Elements

Section Description
Pending Orders Orders ready for assignment to drivers
In Transit Orders currently being delivered
Available Drivers Drivers who are ready to accept orders
Driver Map Visual map showing driver locations (if GPS enabled)

Managing Delivery Zones

Delivery zones define the geographic areas you deliver to and associated fees or restrictions.

Creating a Delivery Zone

  1. Navigate to Delivery Zones
    Go to POS > Delivery Zones from the navigation menu.
  2. Click "Add Zone"
    Start creating a new delivery zone.
  3. Enter Zone Details
    • Name: Zone identifier (e.g., "Zone 1 - Downtown")
    • Minimum Order: Minimum order amount for this zone
    • Delivery Fee: Fee charged for delivery to this zone
    • Estimated Time: Average delivery time in minutes
  4. Define Zone Boundaries
    Specify the area using postal codes, city/district names, or map coordinates.
  5. Save Zone
    Click "Save" to create the delivery zone.
Zone Priority

If zones overlap, the system uses the zone with the highest priority (lowest number). Configure priority in zone settings.

Adding a Driver

  1. Navigate to Drivers
    Go to POS > Delivery Drivers.
  2. Click "Add Driver"
    Open the driver creation form.
  3. Enter Driver Information
    • Name: Driver's full name
    • Phone: Contact number
    • Vehicle Type: Car, motorcycle, bicycle, etc.
    • License Plate: Vehicle registration (if applicable)
  4. Save Driver
    Click "Save" to add the driver to the system.

Driver Status

Status Meaning
Available Driver is ready to accept deliveries
On Delivery Driver has an active delivery in progress
Returning Driver is returning from a delivery
Offline Driver is not currently working

Manual Assignment

  1. View Pending Orders
    On the Delivery Dashboard, find orders with "Ready for Delivery" status.
  2. Select an Order
    Click on the order to view details and assignment options.
  3. Choose a Driver
    Select from the list of available drivers. Consider proximity and workload.
  4. Confirm Assignment
    Click "Assign" to link the order to the driver.

Batch Assignment

Assign multiple orders to one driver for efficient routing:

  1. Select Multiple Orders
    Check the boxes next to orders going to nearby destinations.
  2. Click "Batch Assign"
    Choose a driver for all selected orders.
  3. Confirm Route Order
    Arrange the delivery sequence for optimal routing.
Smart Assignment Tips
  • Assign orders in the same zone to the same driver when possible
  • Consider estimated delivery times to avoid late deliveries
  • Balance workload across available drivers

Handling Delivery Issues

Customer Not Available

Options when customer is not available
Options for handling unavailable customers
  1. Attempt Contact
    Driver should call the customer using the phone number on record.
  2. Wait Time
    Wait a reasonable time (typically 5-10 minutes) at the delivery location.
  3. Contact Dispatch
    If unable to reach customer, driver contacts the restaurant.
  4. Resolution
    Manager decides: reschedule, return order, or mark as undeliverable.

Wrong Address

If the delivery address is incorrect:

  • Contact customer to verify correct address
  • Update the order with the new address
  • Reassign to appropriate driver if needed
  • Adjust delivery fee if zone changes

Order Issues on Delivery

If customer reports missing or incorrect items:

  • Document the issue in the order notes
  • Offer appropriate resolution (refund, re-delivery, credit)
  • Investigate with kitchen if recurring issue

Delivery Reports

Track delivery performance with these reports:
